Canva Pro price in India: Canva's own rates, read properly

The short answer

Canva charges Indian buyers its own India price, set by Canva and shown on canva.com/pricing. We tried to fetch that page on 8 October 2026 and got an HTTP 403 (Canva blocks automated requests), so we print no Canva figure here. Open it yourself from an Indian connection. What we can explain is how the ladder is built (Free, Pro, Business for teams, Enterprise), how to judge monthly against yearly, which Indians get Pro at no cost through Education or Nonprofits, and how UPI Autopay renewals work. We also sell a Canva route: ₹149/month on its own, or inside our Advanced, Super Ecom and Ultimate plans, so read the rest with that in mind.

Search "canva pro price india" and the first page is crowded with figures that disagree with each other, because most were typed into a post once and never touched again. Canva revises its regional prices on its own schedule and has renamed its team tier at least once, so a rupee number in a 2024 article tells you very little about this month's checkout. This guide is built the other way round. It gives you the parts that stay true between price changes and points you at the one page that holds the current number. For the separate question of sharing a Canva account, and what that does and does not give you, see our Canva group buy guide for India; this page sticks to price.

Why this page shows no Canva rupee figure

Our rule for vendor prices is simple: a number goes on the page only if we fetched it from the vendor that day, and it carries the date. On 8 October 2026 every canva.com URL we requested, including the pricing page, the Education pages and the help centre, answered with a 403. That is Canva's bot protection at work and says nothing about the prices themselves. It does mean we have no first-hand reading to give you, and quoting a figure from a reseller's blog would be worse than quoting none.

Reading the page yourself takes two minutes if you check four things:

  • Currency. Prices should show the rupee sign. Dollars usually mean a VPN, a work laptop routed through another country, or an account whose billing address is abroad.
  • The toggle. Canva shows monthly and yearly prices on the same cards. The yearly card is often written as a per-month figure, so confirm which one you are reading.
  • Per person or per team. The multi-seat plan is priced per person. A headline figure there is one seat, not your whole team.
  • Tax line. Look for a note on whether GST is included. The amount on your UPI or card statement is the one that counts, so compare at checkout, before you confirm.

Canva's plan ladder: Free, Pro, Business, Enterprise

The structure has held steady even while names and prices moved. Canva's help pages, as indexed in October 2026, refer to the multi-seat tier as Canva Business; many Indian articles still call it Teams. Some markets also see a lighter Pro Lite tier. Check what the live page calls each card before you compare. An article built on last year's plan names may be pricing a tier that no longer exists.

The jump that matters most for an Indian freelancer is Free to Pro. Free gets surprisingly far for an occasional poster. Pro starts paying for itself when you resize the same design for four platforms every week, or when you keep hitting the crown icon on stock photos for client work.

Monthly or yearly: do the sum before you pick

Canva, like most subscription software, prices the yearly plan so that each month works out cheaper. That discount only helps if you use the tool for most of the year. The quick test needs two numbers from the pricing page and one division:

  1. Note the yearly price (the full amount charged at once, not the per-month version).
  2. Note the monthly price.
  3. Divide yearly by monthly. The result is the number of paid months at which yearly breaks even.

If you will be active for fewer months than that break-even point, monthly is cheaper in total, even though each month costs more. That describes a lot of Indian buyers. A wedding photographer who designs heavily from October to February, a D2C seller who lives in Canva around Diwali and the end-of-season sales, or a final-year student with one placement season of decks all have bursty usage. Yearly suits the agency or creator who opens Canva every working day.

There is a cash-flow side too. Yearly takes a single large debit. On a student or early-freelance budget, that one debit can matter more than the total saving, and a monthly plan you can stop is simply easier to live with.

Pro for one person, Business for a team

Pro is a one-person licence. When a second designer, an intern or a client reviewer needs the same premium library, the official answer is the multi-seat plan, and that is where costs rise quickly because it is priced per seat. Before upgrading, an Indian agency should ask who actually needs Pro features and who only needs to view and comment. Reviewers can usually work on Free accounts with shared links, and that can cut the seat count noticeably.

Business also brings things a single Pro account cannot: brand controls applied across the team, approval steps before a design goes out, and shared folders that belong to the company rather than to whoever made the design. If a client's brand system lives in Canva and three people touch it every week, those controls are what you are paying for, and buying them direct from Canva is the right call. One thing to note for Indian teams: Canva's help pages, as indexed in October 2026, say UPI Autopay is not available on Business, so plan on a card or another payment method for that tier.

Canva for Education: who in India qualifies

This is the most misunderstood part of the "Canva Pro price" question in India, because "free for students" gets repeated without the conditions. Canva's Education eligibility guidelines, as indexed in October 2026 (our direct fetch was refused), describe a programme for K-12 schooling: currently employed, certified school teachers, school librarians and support staff, accredited schools and school systems, and the school-age students a verified teacher invites. Teachers re-verify periodically.

The exclusion that catches most Indian searchers is higher education. College and university teachers and their students are not covered, and neither are former teachers or coaching-centre staff who do not teach at an accredited school. A B.Com student building placement decks, or an MBA candidate making a case-competition deck, does not qualify. If that is you, the realistic choices are Canva Free, a monthly Pro subscription for the heavy weeks, or a cheaper shared route.

For a school teacher, though, the route is excellent. Verification normally goes through a school email or proof of employment such as a school ID, and an approved account carries premium features for classroom use at no charge. If you qualify, use it before you spend anything.

Canva for Nonprofits: registered charities only

Canva also runs a nonprofit programme. Its eligibility guidelines, as indexed in October 2026, require an organisation officially registered as a charitable nonprofit in its own country, independent of government and not run for profit, with the final decision resting with Canva. Education charities, including schools, are pointed to the Education programme instead. Approved organisations get premium features and team tools for a team of staff and volunteers, at no charge.

For an Indian NGO, the practical step is having your registration paperwork ready (trust deed, society registration or Section 8 company certificate) and applying from an account that uses the organisation's own email domain. Canva reviews each application by hand. A freelancer who designs for an NGO does not qualify personally. The organisation applies and then invites the people who do its design work.

Paying from India: UPI, Autopay and cards

Canva's own help centre has pages on paying by UPI and by UPI Autopay for Indian buyers. As indexed in October 2026, they say Autopay covers recurring Pro subscriptions, while plain UPI handles one-off purchases. Day to day, Autopay means three things:

  • You approve a mandate once in your UPI app (PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm or your bank's own app). Later renewals debit automatically.
  • Your bank warns you before each debit. Indian recurring payments run under RBI's e-mandate rules, which require a pre-debit notification, so a renewal should never arrive unannounced.
  • You can cancel from the UPI app. Open the autopay or mandates section and revoke it. That stops future debits even if you never log in to Canva again, though cancelling inside Canva as well keeps the account state tidy.

Cards work under the same mandate framework. Some Indian debit cards are not enabled for recurring online charges by default, so a failed renewal is more often a bank setting than a problem with Canva. Turn on online and recurring transactions in your banking app before blaming the checkout.

Where our Canva route fits, and where it does not

We sell Canva access on a shared account, billed monthly with no yearly prepayment. That is a different product from a Canva account in your own name: no personal brand system you control, no Canva team seats of your own, and the trade-offs of sharing, which the group-buy safety guide sets out. What it offers is a low monthly price and, in the plans, Canva sitting next to tools you would otherwise pay for separately.

Our optionMonthly priceWhat comes with Canva
Canva on its own₹149Canva only
Advanced Plan₹1,49925 tools, mostly SEO and writing, with Envato Elements and Freepik on the design side
Super Ecom₹1,99931 tools for product research, ad spying and store creatives
Ultimate Plan₹2,499All 91 tools in the catalogue

A common mix-up: Canva is not in the Essential Plan or the Boost Plan. Those are SEO and writing bundles, so a buyer who only wants design should pick the standalone option or one of the three plans above. The standalone price makes sense against Canva's own monthly Pro if you mostly produce and export designs and do not need a brand system that belongs to you. Super Ecom suits Indian Shopify and marketplace sellers who need product research and ad creatives in the same month. The Canva tool page lists what the shared session includes.

Which route to take, by reader

  • School teacher or school student: apply for Canva for Education first. It costs nothing if you are approved.
  • College student: Canva Free for most of the term. For a placement season or a final project, a single month of Pro direct or our ₹149 monthly route, whichever is cheaper when you check.
  • Registered NGO: apply for Canva for Nonprofits from the organisation's own account.
  • Solo creator using Canva daily: Canva Pro direct, yearly if your break-even sum says so. A personal account you control is worth paying for at that level of use.
  • Freelancer with bursty months: monthly billing, either Canva's own or ours, stopped when the work stops.
  • Agency with several designers: Canva Business direct, with reviewers kept on Free accounts to hold the seat count down.
  • SEO or e-commerce freelancer who also designs: one of our plans that already includes Canva, so design is not a separate bill.

Whatever you choose, take the current figure from Canva's page or ours on the day you pay. Ours syncs from the live catalogue, and Canva's is the only source for Canva's.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Canva Pro price in India right now?

Canva publishes its own price for Indian buyers on canva.com/pricing, and that page is the only number to trust. When we tried to fetch it on 8 October 2026, Canva's servers refused automated requests, so this page prints no Canva figure rather than copying one from a blog that may be a year old. Open the page from an Indian connection, check that the figures are in rupees, and flip the monthly/yearly toggle before you compare anything.

Does Canva charge Indian users in rupees?

Canva sets prices by country, and its India help pages describe rupee payment methods such as UPI. The currency you see depends on where Canva thinks you are and on the billing country of the account you are signed in to. If the page shows dollars while you are in India, check for a VPN or a foreign billing address on the account before you pay.

Is Canva Pro free for students in India?

Only for school-level students. Canva for Education covers K-12 teachers, their schools and the students they invite, according to Canva's eligibility guidelines as indexed in October 2026. College and university students and staff are outside it. A college student has three realistic options: the Free plan, a monthly Pro subscription for the busy semester, or a cheaper shared route such as ours.

Can I pay for Canva Pro with UPI Autopay?

Canva's help pages, as indexed in October 2026, say UPI Autopay works for Pro renewals in India and is not offered on the multi-seat Business plan. Autopay is a standing mandate in your UPI app: you approve it once, your bank warns you before each charge, and you can pause or cancel it from the app's autopay section without contacting Canva.

Is yearly Canva Pro cheaper than monthly?

Per month, yes: Canva's pricing page shows a lower effective monthly rate on the yearly toggle. Whether it is cheaper for you depends on how many months you will actually use it. Divide the yearly figure by the monthly one; if you expect fewer active months than that result, monthly billing costs less in total.

Which BundledSEO plans include Canva?

Canva is sold on its own at ₹149/month, and it is included in Advanced Plan (₹1,499/month), Super Ecom (₹1,999/month), Ultimate Plan (₹2,499/month). It is not in the Essential Plan or Boost Plan, which are SEO and writing bundles. All of these bill monthly; we do not sell yearly prepayment.
